Yasu Oda is President of Ospera Inc., a consultancy firm, and President of Vital Japan - Bilingual Professionals Network.
After working for Mitsui & Co. and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, Mr. Oda launched his career in multinational start-up companies including eBay and DoubleClick, where he specialized in corporate strategy, business development, marketing, public relations and investor relations. He was Chief Marketing Officer in charge of marketing and corporate strategy at DoubleClick Japan during its turnaround.
In addition to earning his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Area Studies and International Relations from Sophia University in Tokyo, Mr. Oda graduated from high school in Ohio, USA and studied at Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
In 2002, Mr. Oda founded Vital Japan - Bilingual Professionals Network in Tokyo, which organizes monthly workshops on business and public policy issues in English. In response to enthusiastic requests from its members, Mr. Oda launched Vital English where he lectures and facilitates courses of English communication and liberal arts. Vital Japan together with Vital English now boasts a membership of over 10,000.
