March 27 - Alumni Society Established Shigeru Itoh gave a lecture at the commencement ceremony of the fifth ARK Toshijuku session on "Recent Tokyo Topics" to commemorate the establishment of the Alumni Society. December - "The Philosophy of Community Building" Published The publication contained the results of the Community Building Philosophy seminars from the second through fourth ARK Toshijuku sessions, compiled by students. |

May 6 - Digital Bauhaus School Opened Seminar on "Architectural and City Planning with CG (Computer Graphics)" to commemorate the opening. Seminar included Tsuyoshi Sasada (Professor, Osaka University School of Engineering), Osamu Koide (Professor, University of Tokyo Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology), and Yoshio Tsukio, special consultant to the Digital Bauhaus School, and presented examples of CG. September 12 - ARK Toshijuku Overseas Open Seminar First Excursion: "Inspecting European City Planning and Waterfronts: 12 Days,"led by Shigeru Itoh and Shiohiko Takahashi. December 12 - ARK Toshijuku Overseas Open Seminar Second Excursion: "Inspecting Current and Future Use of Computers in Architecture and City Planning in America: 10Days," led by Osamu Koide. Visited the Environmental Simulation Laboratory at The University of California at Berkeley, to study current and future techniques in the fields of architecture and city planning. |
